Ebeneezer Scrooge awoke from his terrible dream and ran to the window.
Throwing it open and squinting against the light, he spotted a young boy standing in the street below.
"You! child! tell me, what day is it!?!" he inquired, hopeful it wasn't too late to right his wrongs....
"who, me sir?" inquired the boy, "Yes, YES! you, dear child! what day is this?", he pleaded.
"why, it's september 2nd!" answered the boy.
"SHIT!" bellowed Ebeneezer, "I missed the GODDAMN CONTEST!!!!"
he reached over to his desk and picked up his half finished steampunk pulse cannon and turned back to the boy.
"hey you little punk, choke on this!!" and with a strength he hadn't show for years, he flung the rifle and struck the boy senseless! he dropped like a rock!
and as the poor lad tried to stagger back to his feet, blood gushing from the gash to his forehead, Ebeneezer added "maybe if you pawn that piece of crap, you can get your mama off her back and out of the bordello for a day or two!!" then with a grunt and a scowl, he slammed the shutters closed.
"WTF!" wondered the child, as he started to stagger away, still stunned by the impact. he suddenly stopped and looked down at the blaster in his bloodied hands, and screamed back over his shoulder, "YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DRYBRUSH!!!!!"

man, voting was just as hard as ever! three votes isnt even enough!

Dap that was one of the funnier things I have seen posted any where in a while. You should really write up the whole story. ;) Ok now to the days of diliberation on which I vote on.

Well, 5th place 2 years in a row is alright I guess. My "Buccaneer" was actually inspired by thedap's pirate blaster from the following thread;

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=221&hilit=changed+my

I had a musket pistol replica leftover from another project I did a few years ago, and a spare Marco blaster muzzel from the 80's, so together they went. I had intended on making a full scratch PVC blaster, but since it was "toy-based" only... well, you know the rest. I wonder what will be left when the prize fairy gets around to me...? Thanks all who voted for me. I actually liked #8, #16, and #13 for my votes. I especially like how #8 utilized the rear slide as part of the re-designed grip; very nice. Also, about #2, was that supposed to be a Tyranid-inspired gun? (from WH40K). Very effective for what it was.

woot! great contest everyone!

voting was even harder than last time, three choices didn't make it any easier.

Z-man, I liked your gun! where did you get the base gun? my third vote was between your gun and #2. that #2 was so outa left field I really like it.

hey Z, maybe if you painted your drum gun like dudley did that concept blaster, thats one awesome paintjob! I gotta give painting my stuff like that a try!

I got lucky on my gun, the wood grip wasn't coming out very well, but the paint job made the rest of the gun really pop out good. it was looking pretty grim until I did the brass.
